Привожу выписку из CAIPS о моих интервью в киевском посольстве. Может эта информация кому-нибудь будет полезна. Спустя несколько лет мои ошибки выглядят смешно, но огромную роль в первый раз сыграл стресс. Только теперь я поняла о чем меня спрашивали. Канадский английский значительно отличается от того английского, которому нас учили в школе.

PA- principal applicant;

Tamara- assistant.

2004. I am trying to get PA to speak in English. She has taken an IELTS est last fall. PA is having some trouble communicating in English. PA has a basis, but is not fluent. What language are you to speak to the children in? In English. What will your duties be in CDA? (Looked to TIP for translation) I will help, to dress, to cook. Will the 10 y.o. go to school? (again looked for help from tip, I told PA she must try to speak to me in English). I repeated question several times and then she said that she did not understand me. I repeated the question again in different ways and she seemed to understand me and tried to answer, but then changed to Russian. I am giving PA the live-in caregiver booklet and asking her to read and put in her own words #3 (ENG requirement). She read it with a few mistakes and summarized it by saying that she must speak English. She then read from text in English and then spoke in UKR again to answer me. I explained that she must be stronger in English for me to issue a work permit under LCP. I encourage her to practice some more and gain confidence. TIP translated that to PA. TRV refused for above reasons.

2006. Subj is re-applying again to go to Cda work there as a live-in caregiver; has different employer this time; was refused previously for lack of English; subj has a diploma of a day-care teacher; Interview: what have you been doing since 04 to improve yr English language skills? **I read a books in English... I speak Canadian English by telephone. I would like to improve my English" Who is your employer this time? "My employer is Mr.*******" Have you met him in person? **can't understand the question** did you met him in person? "No,we talking by telephone" What language? "English"; Isn't he of Ukrainian background? "I don't know; I don't ask him" What will you be doing in Cda? "I will be working in the family" Doing what? " I must to do childcare and help children to do their homework, help them to dress.. to do all their daily duties;" How old are the children? "They are 11, 4 and 1 years old"; Do they speak Ukrainian? "No; they only speak in English" Do you have relatives/friends in Cda? "No; I have not" Would you like to live in Cda permanently? " I would like to live in Cda one year..by my work permit..maybe i can prolong my work.. I may apply for immigration also" How did you find job in Cda? "by Internet"; Subj has improved her English; she is not fluent, but can communicate in it without problems; she seems to have relevant background; Tamara: Pls issue meds and verify subj's employment; Thanks.
